A Time

There is an appointed time for everything.
And there is a time for every event under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Today the calendar was turned.
Resolutions made.

Time marked.

The tree is still up. Dishes wait to be put away. Clothes sit in baskets. Already I feel behind.

There was a time this morning to take Simon to the doctor. And to the pharmacy.
There was a time this afternoon to take a trip to the book store closing for atlases and art books and composer biographies.
There was a time to sit and gaze at all the information to be gleaned with Abigail excited to learn.
There was a time to watch Chris work on the new bedroom, to rejoice in his progress.

His vacation is almost over. He has spent so much of it working. When he is home time is marked a little differently. Come Monday, Chris will go back to work, we will need to go grocery shopping. And the schedule on the refrigerator will be more or less followed. Chores and lists will be crossed off.

There is a time for everything. Now is not the time for feeling behind. Now is the time for enjoying them.
